Whether boarding is for a term or a year or more, we recommend between Year 6 and Year 11 . That is, between the ages of 10 and 15. Until Year 10, all courses are automatically recognized with the Spanish system, meaning the English education system is completely equivalent to the Spanish one. In Year 11, the situation becomes more complicated, as it is the last year of compulsory secondary education, both in Spain and the United Kingdom. To recognize this course, the student must complete and pass four GCSE subjects with a grade between A and C.

That's why it's easier if they start studying before year11, but don't rule it out completely, because it's also possible. On the other hand, students between the ages of 15 and 18 may be better emotionally prepared to spend a long period away from home, making this a positive and enriching experience.

Therefore, although validations involve official exams, we encourage you to contact us. We will explain exactly what you will need to prove in order for the course to be validated. And, depending on the type of student your child is and their starting level of English, we can advise you on one course or another or on one school or another, based on your preferences and the equivalence of the English education system to the Spanish one.
